I had to get a last minute cake - and they were so absolutely nice and helpful. Where on earth does a person go to get a last minute Halloween Cake? They go to the Sweet Side, that's where. My goodness, they even decorated it for me; and originally I thought the decoration was going to be lettering, it was this beautiful design on a sugar star. It looks phenomenal -- I could not have ordered a better custom cake from most places, and this is basically just what they had on hand. Amazing. Top to bottom a great experience and I'm so absolutely pleased I chose The Sweet Side.
In celebration of my 32nd birthday, my family got a cake from The Sweet Side. It was a triple decker with three colors of frosting on the exterior, a pink, pale yellow, and blue. The top of the cake had an edible piece with writing saying, Happy Birthday Tanis! Instructions for how to have the cake ready for consumption were noted on the box. It was a beauty of a cake that was tasty as well. The frosting on the exterior was a little firmer than the frosting between the cake layers. Both the exterior and the interior frosting were flavorful, just not in an overly bold way. Textually, it was a little crumbly/chalky which allowed it to melt in my mouth a bit. The cake reminded me a little of cookie dough in taste and held together well. Having leftover cake after our celebration on this past Monday (26 August 2024) it has continued to taste better each day.
The Sweet Side has been our go to for birthday cakes for the past 3 years! Every cake we've had from here has been amazing. The cake softness, filling, and frosting are all delicious. The cake presentation is actually the best part! These cakes look fantastic and everyone at the party always comments about how beautiful the cakes look. Another plus of the Sweet Side is that when you need a cake in a hurry they have several styles of cake available that will meet your needs. The service is friendly and we've always got what we've ordered with no issues! Trust them for your next cake purchase.
Beautiful fanciful cakes and they taste soooo good! We had the Carrot Cake inside a mermaid tail and it was one of the moistest carrot cakes ever. So worth it. Thanks!
This place is so cute and the staff is so nice! I ordered a shark cake for my SO's 30th birthday because you're never too old for a shark cake! It was GORGEOUS and I asked for a little bit of writing. I expected some grocery store nice handwriting one the top (which would have been great) but instead got a hand painted sugar saucer! It was seriously pretty. I called and I think it was the owner (don't quote me on that) who helped me but she was soooooo patient to my back and forth on not being sure on the flavor I chose. They prep and order things ahead of time and can't always change things but she was so pleasant with me. FLAVOR: It was really good! The frosting wasn't over sweet and the cake was a combination of moist, flaky and dense in great ratio. The flavors we went with were the chocolate cake and strawberry middle because everyone seemed to review that the strawberry was delicious. Id have to agree! Again, this place is great! If you want a gorgeous cake that tastes great too, check them out.
